A Career Built on the Water

With a career spanning decades in commercial and rescue maritime operations, I bring real-world experience into every training session. I've worked across a wide range of vessel types and operational environments — from coastal commercial operations to active rescue work — and I draw on all of it when helping students understand not just the theory, but the practical realities of life on the water.

I hold a Master <45 Metres NC qualification and have operated as Master of a rescue vessel for many years. I'm a nationally recognised Trainer and Assessor (TAE qualified), which means the qualifications I deliver are nationally accredited and meet AMSA's standards for commercial certification.

My approach is straightforward: I want you to succeed. Whether you're working toward your first Coxswain certificate or advancing to a Master qualification, I'll work with you at your pace and make sure you're genuinely prepared — not just for the assessment, but for the water.

Qualifications & Credentials

  • Master <45 Metres NC
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Marine Radio Operator Certificate
  • AMSA Registered Trainer & Assessor
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Working with Children Check

My Teaching Philosophy

The sea doesn't care about theory. My job is to make sure you're ready for both the exam and the water — and that you leave every session more confident than when you arrived.

I keep class sizes small so every student gets proper attention. Maritime training isn't something you can rush — understanding why the rules exist matters as much as knowing what they are.

I tailor sessions to your experience level and goals. A first-time boater working toward a Recreational Skipper's Ticket needs a different approach than an experienced mariner upgrading to a Master qualification — and I adjust accordingly.
